Garlasco (Garlàsc in local dialect) is a town of 9,800 inhabitants in the province of Pavia.
The city, one of the greatest of Lomellina, is known for the Shrine of Our Lady of Bozzola, 4 km from the center, goal of pilgrimages of the faithful, and the presence of one of the most complex sports and entertainment zone. In 2007 jumped the honor which chronicles the scene of a efferato murder difficult to solve.
Located near the center of Lomellina, a short distance from the left bank of Terdoppio and not far from the edge of the terrace alluvial valley of Ticino.
The territory, including in the Po valley, is almost entirely flat and characterized by numerous rice and intensive cultivation of cereals and corn. History
Probably pre origin (at least judging from the name), is mentioned since the tenth century, in 981 was donated by Otto II to the monastery of St. Savior of Pavia, at that time the highest among owners of the area.
