Very old house in the countryside of the "Val di Chiana" heart of Tuscany, very near to all the most beautiful cities of art, the house has been redone and furnished beautifully with old family tokens and precious textiles.
The house is only 4 km from the exit "Monte San Savino" of highway A1 and with 120 m2 the house is able to take in 10 guests and 2 or 3 small children (baby beds will of course be available graciously).
We speak english, french, german and italian.

- Possibility to learn to cook and try toscan receipts (and also receipts from other places if you wish!).
- Wall-safe (so you can drive around feeling secure!).
- Central-heating.
The house is set upon a hill with panoramic view (quite breathtaking) there is a lot of sunshine and also shadow (the big trees) there is always some slight breeze and the place is extremely calm and silent.
In the house we have a beautiful living room with open fire-place (you'll get the wood from us graciously), SAT Tv, 2 big sleeping-sofas, a terrace, Stone dining Table for 10, kitchen with stove with 3 gas flames and 1 electric, oven with grill combined, fridge, dishwasher, electric coffee-machine, electric kettle, Toaster; 4 Bedrooms, (Master Bedroom with his own Loggia) 1 Bathroom with Tub, the other 2 Bathrooms with shower.
On the first floor we have the wall-safe and the washing machine.

Marciano della Chiana rises on high hills in val di Chiana.
The local economy is based on the production of cereals, vegetables, fruits, wine grapes and olives.
The place name comes from the compound of "Marciano", the latter deriving from the name of Latin "Marcius", and "Chiana, with reference to Chiani River valley in which the city stands.
The first settlements in the Marciano della Chiana etruscan go back to, as evidenced by the numerous archaeological site dating found in these periods and kept at the Archaeological Museum of Arezzo.
After the fall of the Roman Empire the area was first colonized by Goths and then the Lombards, but the emergence and consolidation of the current village began in early age.
During the eleventh century the village Marciano della Chiana was part of the property of Abbey of San Quirico to Rose, but the town was under the direct influence of the Bishops of Arezzo because it was linked to the abbey.
In the next Marciano della Chiana was under the hegemony of the city of Arezzo and his Bishopric, getting a certain municipal autonomy. The aretini worked in the fortification of the village by building a huge fortified walls of a fortress and towers sighting.
The domination in Arezzo lasted two centuries after leaving trace of itself in the many religious buildings still visible.
At the end of the fourteenth century, the village was conquered by the Republic of Siena but had to divest in Florence all his possessions after a short period.
He entered fall of the Republic of Florence, in 1417 the village was included in the community of Foiano, thus losing its autonomy.
In the early years of domination Florentine Marciano della Chiana suffered numerous attacks by the troops of the Republic of Siena, which had not resigned to losing his possession. In 1554 the two republics clashed in the famous Battle of Marciano which triumphed in the Republic of Florence.
Since 1555 Marciano della Chiana entered officially became part of the possessions of Florence, which at that time was governed by the Grand de 'Medici. For Doctors succeeded the dukes of Lorraine, who dominated almost continuously up to the territory of Italy took place in 1861 by the King Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy.
Among the most important monuments in Marciano della Chiana mention here the Parish of Saints Andrew and Stephen, the Temple of Santa Vittoria and Castle Marciano.
