FARM HOLIDAYS LA STRISCIA: DREAM AND PEACE IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY
Among the vineyards of the Aretine Hills, just 1 km far away from the historical center of Arezzo, the old Fattoria di Villa La Striscia, was built in 1500 and enlarged in 1700, has been restored and transformed into five charming and warmly-colored apartmentsgriturismo All the apartments are finished with a great attention to detail, and furnished with antiques and with the beautiful dressing tables from the main villa. The swimming pool is just a few steps away from the farmhouse. A path among the vineyards of the estate quickly leads you to an enchanted quiet and peaceful place.
We offer our guests the opportunity to dine in a very relaxed and casual atmosphere and to enjoy a unique culinary experience. The organization of the dinners is cured to the ultimate detail: from the suggestive atmosphere to the exquisite table-setting , the choice of the music and finally to the preparation of the courses, which are the true protagonists of this adventure of the palate. There are a selective number of tables for an inclusive maximum of 14 persons; though in the eventually of a particular request for complete privacy it is possible to arrange for special circumstances and satisfy any requirements for events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons and whatsoever. Intimacy is assured and the guests will be individually cared for in all their needs and desires. During the summer the dinners will take place in our beautiful and private gardens in a suggestive and exclusive candlelight atmosphere. On the hotter summer nights we offer dinner at the swimming pool surrounded by the vineyards of our property.
Beginning in 2008, we offer our guests the possibility of participating in a course of lessons in Italian Cuisine, which will take place in a private and casual ambience within the Agriturismo. Each participant, in both theory and execution, will be followed personally by the professional and highly reputable Chef, Gabriella Lavorato; whose goal is to transmit the passion ,creativity and great fun of the art of cooking. The Course will propose the complete menus, composing starter, first and second courses, and dessert, being divided in three lessons of three/four hours. Each lesson will be followed by a dinner ..so the participants will taste the dishes they prepared. The menus may be modified on request at the moment of the reservation. During the lessons the participants will be offered a delicious bruschetta with our home-grown olive oil, and an excellent glass of our wine. All participants shall receive a complementary apron of the Agriturismo, notes detailing the recipes and a certificate of participation.
The Villa's location, only 1 km from the historical center of Arezzo, places the convenience of the city at your fingertips: the supermarket, antique shops, and the stylish restaurants and wineries downtown. The Villa will also offer tasting sessions of typical Tuscany culinary specialties and of wine from the Occhini cellars, awarded two glasses by the Gambero Rosso guide. During the summer time is possible to dinner in the beautiful gardens in a romantic-candles atmosphere.

By air:
The nearest airports are Airport Firenze (just 70 km) or Pisa (150 km). Then we suggest you to rent a car, or to use the public transports. In that case take a shuttle till the train station, and take the train for Arezzo. Then catch the bus No.4 or No.6 and get off at Via dei Cappuccini, we are just a few steps far in the same street.
By car:
From the Highway A1 (Firenze-Roma) take direction Firenze, exit at Arezzo, then follow the direction for downtown - Stadio. At the round of the Stadio find the first pannel for Fattoria La Stiscia.
